An incredibly beautiful species, Western Red Cedar grows in a spectrum of hues that range from a light honey yellow to a deep sienna red. The combination of WRC’s grain, texture and colours create a naturally luxurious appearance that man-made materials generally can’t replicate.
Western Red Cedar is considered an ideal material for exterior applications such as siding, as its fibers are rich in natural compounds that act as preservatives. This provides the wood with a high resistance to moisture, decay, and insects, rendering the species, and ultimately your siding, a long-lasting life cycle.
Western Red Cedar is also pitch and resin-free, meaning it readily accepts a wide range of finishes and stains. If preferred, Western Red Cedar can also be left unfinished and will gradually develop a beautiful, rustic silvery-gray patina over time.
