Western Forest Products’ LIFESTYLE CEDAR™ Fencing products are designed for many styles of fence and property requirements. Whether you’re designing a privacy fence, a decorative fence or a simple yet functional fence to define your property, LIFESTYLE CEDAR™ is a natural and beautiful choice.
WFP LIFESTYLE CEDAR™ Fencing is available in Western Red Cedar and Japanese Cedar.
Often referred to as Sugi, Japanese Cedar is a beautiful species grown in Japan and used for structural and appearance applications. Japanese Cedar has a wonderful pinkish-red hue and is usually straight-grained and medium-textured. The wood sands and glues easily and takes finishes and stains extremely well. All WFP LIFESTYLE CEDAR™ Japanese Cedar Fencing products are kiln-dried, making them dimensionally stable, easy-to-maintain, and long-lasting.
LIFESTYLE CEDAR™ Western Red Cedar is a beautiful wood and the species is an excellent choice for exterior applications like fencing. Cedar fibers are rich in natural compounds that act as preservatives, providing the wood with a high resistance to moisture, decay, and insects, and rendering it extremely long-lasting.
Fence posts, boards and rails are available in a variety of lengths and dimensions, and come in a several different surface textures to create customized styles.
Saw textured: A textured surface where the blade marks, created during the milling process when a circular saw or band saw is used, are visible on all four sides of the wood.
Rougher headed: A more pronounced “rougher” surface texture created in the milling process when roughened planer knives are used. The surface is visible on all four sides and creates a pleasant, rustic look.
Surfaced Four Sides: Usually referred to as S4S, all four sides of the board or post have been smoothed to present a uniform, elegant finish for a high-end look.
Surfaced One Side, Two Edges: Known as S1S2E, one side of the board is smooth, and the other is textured, allowing you to use either for your exposed view.
Rough Sawn / Rougher Headed: An ideal choice for a traditional, rustic style fence, either circular or band saws or roughened planer knives are used to create a roughened surface visible on all four sides.
